Making a difference

I've been Taos County Commissioner since 2020 - my first time running for office and the start of my experience with local government. I've never learned so much so fast! I love the work of serving this community.

Professionally, I was a communications consultant who ran my own small business from Arroyo Seco, NM, where I live with my husband and until recently :-( ...our Stray Hearts dog. My job focused on getting clear information into the hands of people who can use it.

I arrived in Taos County in 2011, but I first tried to move my life here 20 years before that. I'd fallen in love with this place at first sight, the first time I came through on a cross-country road trip. This land is precious.

I believe that government should work for we the people, meaning all the people. Elected officials who are in charge of addressing issues need to be connected to the people they represent and those people's priorities.

And I'm passionate about getting more people involved in government... by encouraging new voices to run for office, by helping to register and inform voters, and by reaching out to young people and anyone who doesn't feel represented.
